Biosketch


Patrick Rottinghaus (Ph.D., 2004, Iowa State University) is an Assistant Professor in the Counseling Psychology program and the Director of the Department's Career Development and Resource Clinic (CDRC). He received a master's in college student development from the University of Iowa and was a career counselor at Northwestern University. His clinical experiences have included college counseling centers, community mental health, and a VA hospital. Dr. Rottinghaus's research examines the roles of vocational interests, personality, values, and self-efficacy upon career choice and development, appearing in the Journal of Vocational Behavior, Journal of Career Assessment, Career Development Quarterly, and Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development. He currently serves on Editorial Boards for the Journal of Vocational Behavior, Journal of Career Assessment and Journal of Career Development, and as an ad hoc reviewer for several journals. He is the Communications Officer for the Society for Vocational Psychology, and chairs the Research Committee for the National Career Development Association.
